Rod Seals
The Rod Seal is the most critical in a cylinder application. It’s also subject to the harshest service conditions. Its failure can result in fluids leaking into the immediate environment and can jeopardize both performance and safety.
The key features of any Rod Seal are:
- It acts as a dynamic seal along its inner diameter, and static along its outer diameter
- It is directly affected by changes to the rod surface and fluid temperature fluctuations
- It often sees the highest pressure variations or spikes in the system
- Depending on the level pressure range of the system and the fluid compatibility, RT Dygert offers several different rod seal option
UNLOADED U-CUP
U-Cups seal both the inside and outside diameters. They’re popular due to small gland space.
